I bet! Love to hear any you wish to share, at some point.

"The Year of Living Dangerously" just ended. Fantastic! One of Mel's first movies - he was so young. Directed by the great Australian director Peter Weir.

I distinctly remember watching Siskel and Ebert's review on "At the Movies" when it first came out and their very complementary remarks about Linda Hunt's performance (won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress) and also the way she was inserted into this film. And speaking of young...how about Sigourney Weaver....wowie! :)

That would take some time. Most of it is not pleasant. I also really, really reccomend watching Soldier of Orange.

Never seen "The Year of Living Dangerously". Will add to Covid playlist.

No worries, I understand. Will look for Soldier or Orange.

Baz 02-06-2021 04:13 PM

Sir Cedric Hardwicke! Forgot about him....

Now on FX..."Bohemian Rhapsody". Never saw it before.....that actor is no Freddie Mercury.....

This movie on Netflix is good. It keeps building and building to a very good ending.

I thought he did a damn good job, personally. As a guitarist, I can tell you the baqnd was actually playing the real songs (or at least faking it really well).

Watched "Life" last night. Meh. Pretty generic space horror movie. Same plot, different names, same "surprise" ending.

Baz 02-09-2021 03:59 PM

Coming up on cable "Movies" at 8....."Wild Things" from 1998. Ensemble cast!

Good flick. The T&A gets high marks but the movie was much better than that.

That's right, Bob. From Wiki:

Quote:

The film gained notoriety for featuring several sex scenes – in particular, one involving a man and two women simultaneously – that were more explicit than is typically seen in mainstream, big-budget Hollywood releases. An "uncut" version, adding seven minutes to its runtime, was released on DVD in 2004.
Hadn't seen it in quite a while. Completely forgot about Bill Murray playing the lawyer....as always he was awesome! :D

A mountain trip that turns into a real nightmare. Some extreme twists in the last third of the movie.
I've seen better, but it will def keep you absorbed. On Netflix.
