Friday practice is over, wont spoil it, but closer at the top this time.

Quali tomorrow at 0455 Atlantic time (0355 eastern) should be good. Perhaps as we get a bit more accustomed to the new cars, we'll enjoy it a bit more.

I for one am still not likin' it as much as previous years.

I like the changes aside from the fuel regulations.

You'll want a SC period at a lot of tracks so the drivers have a better chance of actually racing for the remaining period.

Button's car looking good. Says he doesn't stand a chance, but he may well be hoping to sneak through for a win. He sometimes does, in a quiet way. There's not much funding on that car IMO

I believe McLaren is just phoning it in this year in anticipation of the return of Honda as an engine supplier.
Dennis only wants top fight multi-year commitment from sponsors which explains their lack of sponsors this year.

Its a similar situation to Dale Jr. not having a full season title sponsor for years - expensive real estate on the Mclaren - and last year's results were pitiful for the team. They are waiting to sign any longterm deals for the season until they've proven they are worth the $$$ again.

Quali was interesting to watch live this AM., lots of rain. Most of the big guns made it through to a decent grid spot. Weather might be same for tomorrow. Good to see Kimi improving.

I'm still wincing at the ugliness - visual and aural - of the cars. I do enjoy seeing the established pecking order get shaken up, but does it have to be such an unattractive experience?

Alan Permane to Kimi "get the f*** out of the way" of Lotus driver Grosjean.

I would think that ended it for Kimi at Lotus (he wasn't getting paid anyway)
