Hey Todd
As you say, they can at times be a PITA & such - but it is quite something when you include a cat (or for that matter, any pet) in your life for they posses this innate quality to become an integral & important part of your life. We often, in quiet moments, find ourselves endowing them with the ability to understand our own thoughts & feelings. I/we've felt that pain of having to say 'goodbye' & know of how you feel. Sorry for your loss. JB

Sorry for your loss. I went through a similar thing with my cat prior to the brother/sister pair I took in almost 4 years ago. Some people don't get cats. I count myself an animal person. I love dogs (my lab is on borrowed time at 15 1/2) and cats. Work around horses. They are all amazing in their own ways. Cats have a more unique quality to them than dogs, sort of I'll let you into my world when/how I decide to. I appreciate that about them. RIP Milo and hang in there Todd.

Very sad, Todd. Had to put down two dogs (corgis of course) in the last year and a half. Awful.
We had the same vet come to the house for each of them--it's a terrific, compassionate service. He had tears in his eyes both times. Play some bass. Take a walk. After awhile, get a kitten. Terry |

It would be much worse if the cat was still around but his owner was gone. Who would feed him?
Serial, we have to experience loss to appreciate what we had and will have again. |

Cats are the best. Just parted with my senior rescue cat. Managed to get him to 17-1/2, but the last day was tough. I was preparing to euthanize him and he just seemed to stroke out lying in the sun. Good way to go.
They seem to know they've been rescued. And they return the favor many times over. With any new adoptee, we know we'll come to this painful day. And we do it anyway. RIP Milo.
