Wow, he picked perhaps the worst day of the year to manifest his brain damage in such a fashion. I think I am close enough I will hear the sirens if it actually falls on someone.

As it is right now I doubt a regular tree doctor would even touch it.
This is not going to be a simple (cheap) fix. That tree needs to be taken down branch by branch... A "Cherry Picker" and days on site at a minimum. ![]()

I've been wondering why he notched the tree so high (yeah- I know- it was as high as his ladder went!), but from this pic- maybe he was trying to decrease the arc of it's fall so it would miss HIS house and HIS telephone line?!? Maybe? Bueller?
Never mind physics/bad leverage/ or the neighbor's house. ![]() Questions I will ponder as I drive to work: Will the tree still be standing this a.m.? Is there even a way to get a bucket truck up to the tree now with the ropes and RV and jeep cherokee all in place? Will the weather turn for the worse? Will the neighbor smarten up and call his insurance/fire dept/superman/ own tree service? Will the guy doing this get a 12 pack, throw another line up there and get a friend with another truck to help? Gosh Golly, so suspenseful. ![]() Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 12-10-2014 at 05:11 AM.. |

Looks like an episode from the tv-series Soap. I am just waiting for the sarcastic butler Benson to walk into the pic and comment on the current state of affairs.

Ok made it through the thread. I expected to read that the tree let go and the Jeep was somehow up in the air like tennis shoes on a telephone wire.

If I was the neighbor I'd probably call the police. This isn't going to be storybook ending.

I figured that the tree would add insult to injury by pulling the rear axle of the Jeep out from under it and landing it on the neighbor's pool.

Well?
C'mon... Don't make me have to keep checking this every five minutes all day... I'm going to be like a kid on Christmas morning waiting with anticipation!

You guys are funny, first thing I did this morning was check this thread. Po of my old dumptruck did something similar, roped off to the dump truck, and when the tree fell, it dragged the truck back into some other trees, bending the hell out of the bed and tailgate. Truck did not really even slow down the trees fall .
That is an ugly situation going there. Need a good climber.

Too big to fail

When I left for the office @ 4:30am the tree was still there. I passed on some tidbits of advice to the lady on the other side. She took him to HD yesterday to get a new cable, and his plan is to climb up there and cut off some of the limbs.
