I need your help.
I'm trying to fix the light switch on the 911 to sort out the high beam/low beam problem. But it's going from bad to worse
![]() Umm, the owners manual says the low beam is to the steering wheel and high towards the dash. Is this correct? I have fixed it in the past but this time things are going a bit weird. Around here we have to get a Warrant of Fitness every six months which is much the same as a MOT that they have in Britain. And it's been expired for over a month which is risking a $300 fine. So I need to fix it. Thanks. |

Going for a new switch and a relay set would be a reasonable solution, if you have gotten your money's worth out of this assembly.
If it is to be a case of sooner or later, why not sooner ? |

The old switches for high/low are just a metal tang that touches one of two contacts depending on switch position. They can get out of whack but really don't "go bad". You just adjust them by bending the tang.

I rebuilt my old switch several times. I finally just replaced it and put in a headlight relay kit. If you don't have the relay kit, get one. Do a search in he tech forum for the relay kit. One of the members sells a complete kit that is easy to install. That will fix your headlight problem permanently.
