I have heard that many racers buy one way tickets because they don't know if they will come home alive. It is just nucking futs crazy fast.

I hope Guy wins this year, as I think it is his last.

Very sad to hear about the deaths, although they occur pretty much every year. The speeds are just way too high now, for that course. So little margin for error...

Average speeds around the lap have now topped 130mph in practice. Nuts.

A little more inside with some supertwins (LWT), coverage and side car stuff too.

Friends who race SV 650s went last year noted that the Kaw seems to be the lwt of choice.

In 1962, Beryl Swain from Walthamstow, became the first female solo rider to compete on the Mountain circuit.

The following year, the International Federation of Motorcycling, revoked her licence on the grounds that the sport was not suitable for women.

If you think about it, that's about as crazy as what they do now. Given the primitive nature of the suspension and tires on your bike, I rather doubt I'd want to see 76 mph in a straight line, let alone that as an average speed on that course.

Brave, or fools, hard to say...

I watched the sidecars race with my grandson. He said, "That looks really dangerous." Those brothers won

A friend who works for a an electric motor and controller start up company here in the UK that plan to race at the TT next year told me by 2017 electric powered bikes will be setting over al lap records

Not sure why electric cars really don't excite me but electric motor bikes I think are very cool

I am amazed how close they are to the 1000cc bikes. But they still only go 1 lap. I like a lot of the attributes of electric motors but I won't be adopting them until they can get comparable energy per weight with a gasoline drivetrain.
