Rosberg was leading Hamilton until he made yet another unforced error. He lost the race, it had nothing to do with his sponsor. Maybe if he was more consistent, he'd win a few more races. He has the pace, just can't turn it into wins. I'm not a Hamilton fan but he races the entire distance. JR |

The NBC guys have to dumb it down a little, as for years all the US TV network execs seem to think it will help attract a bigger audience if they can explain everything, every race weekend, to the 3 first-time watchers that might tune in. None of them are idiots.

Rosberg was cut down, and we all know it.

Not sure Rosberg was "cut down". He made another error and got passed. And then he pouted. Not surprising - losing sucks. If he did get "cut down", he brought it on himself throughout the year. He was not in a position to win.
The best driver/car combination won. I think Hamilton has matured a lot over the last year. He is a very good driver that has a great car. He seems to be living life the fullest, and at least pays lip service to the team and the fans. I think he actually does enjoy the fans - at least the adoration. At least Rossi finished the race... |

If any thing I think Mercedes has gone a long way to let their drivers race unfettered by team orders.
What is this "cut down". How is that to be seen? Louis is driving solidly thru out the races for the most part, its the little mistakes that keep Rosburg off the top spot. Nine polls only two wins for Rosburg, was what the commentators were saying. If a driver in a domanint car can't convert poll starts to wins at a better rate than that he deserves to be the second driver in his team. But I haven't seen him treated as such. |

I think he did not appreciate HAM running him a mile off the track on the first turn. Then again all he had to do was cut across at the start, Schumi/Vettel style. I think Britney (as Weber used to call him) is done being a team player now. He got chastised at SPa last year but he's overcorrected... I predict a Vettel championship next year, because Ferrari is coming back (and has 2 teams to draw experience from) but mostly because ROS and HAM are gonna take each other out a couple times by not ever conceding anymore. Prost-Senna style.
I thought Britney was fair play initially in the "recovery room" (is that really what it's called? did they give birth?) hugging HAM, but then if HAM had tossed the #2 cap at me like that, I might have shoved it up his tatooed' arse as well. All in all, what a race ! |

Hambone got a better start. I think Rosberg bogged down a little off the line. Even so you have to give a guy racing room in my opinion. Forcing others off the track is one thing I've always despised about Hammy.

You can argue that the frequent safety car periods did him no favors, but that's racing. I remember when his father was racing. In those days, none of the drivers acted like little kids. Yes, they got pissed at each other but they handled it in different ways. JR |

Rosberg need to man up and grow a pair and punt that POS hambone into the stands.
They did everything they could to NASCAR-UP that race. All they needed was a couple drivers fighting in the pits. Last edited by sammyg2; 10-26-2015 at 10:03 AM.. |

Oh I definitely agree HAM is the better driver of the pair... I just wish Britney would man up on occasion and interlock wheels with him. It's worth a crash or 2 and some flak from Mercedes to make your point, I think... Right now he's a carpet that Hamilton uses to wipe his feet... As I said above I predict that might happen on occasion next year, to the benefit of Ferrari (And let's hope MacLaren too, I hate seeing 2 WCs languishing mid field).
PS: Verstappen this and that, kid's good, but I hope they retain Sainz as well, the kid is amazing too ! Got his dad's WRC car control !!! |

The track was slick. It is possible that Hamilton didn't have the grip he hoped for at the apex of turn 1 and slid a little, forcing Rosberg wide and bumping him. That said, it would be a good gesture if he conceded a position to Rosberg at the next race. Mercedes has said that Hamilton will be "punished" for the turn 1 incident--so I'm guessing they didn't see the wheel slip on the telemetry.

If you define finishing the race in the last position of any car moving as success. No doubt at the level of F1 he did better than most drivers and he had a car that is not even slightly competitive. He did finish the race and that is better than many of the other drivers.

He did well. Lots of others didn't. So I'm giving him an unqualified thumbs-up. And his car looked good (This was Texas, after all.)
