Sorry that you got waylaid, but, hey, at least you have a nice place to chillax while you wait!

TPMS are awesome. I know a lot of guys here gripe about them, but they have alerted me and my family to upcoming issues early several times. Even if you check pressure before every drive, you may pick up a nail half way and never know it is going low. A half flat tire will overheat and may blow out.
Good luck with the repair. Have a beer in the back! G |

I assume a front tire? Single out one of the rears to get home on. No towing involved.

Bummer Hugh! Hope you got well off of the roadway for the wait.
Sounds like its coming together now. One of the things I like in my older rig is that there is a spare and with a bottle jack and a long breaker bar I can change tires on my own. Not real easy, but doable. I hate the idea of leaving my rig broken down in the middle of out there. Glad you are getting underway soon. Yes the tires do cost a bit, gulp. Cheers Richard |

Install a plug, air up with portable compressor and carry on.

I always carry large sheet metal screws for puncture quick fixes, and a compressor of course.

That sucks. I spent three hours on the side of the road last weekend because U-Haul trailers don't have spare tires. When the guy showed up I had the trailer jacked up and the flat removed, had they just given me a spare tire on the trailer it would have been a whopping 10 minute delay.

Big hole ran over something $605 and I was on the road in two hours. Got to Carpenteria State Beach and the guy in the adjacent space backed in and caught my awning. Bent the crap out of it. Fortunately he lives in my city and we use the same RV service, he took complete responsibility and said he, or his insurance would do whatever to fix it.

Could have been a lot worse. Daytime on a major state route. Reminds me to remember to pack some heat in the RV just in case.

The awnings aren't too tough to fix, can you get it to retract for the drive home?
I watched the wind rip a closed one right off the side of an RV in Wyoming in the interstate once while I was on the Harley. That was freaky as hell. Hugh, enjoy the weekend and hopefully the drama is over... |

Hugh, go pick up a 20ton bottle Jack and long lug wrench. Not ideal but as Pete mentioned you could drive on only one dual if you had to for a bit.
