I had a big one at the shop and it was not problematic. However i like high end stuff because of picture quality etc. From a price and reliability perspective, no issues.

My understanding (quick internet search) is Vizio buys all the parts outside their company and does the assembly. Others do the same, but also manufacture parts themselves.

First impressions are pretty good.
Picture is very nice and sound is enough for my needs.
Because You Tube is built in, it is much more intuitive than my 3 year old Sony.
Also it has wi-fi so I don't have to hook it up to the cable. It does make the Apple TV I just bought redundant tho.

I have purchased a number of Vizio TV's/monitors. All have worked well. However, with that being said, just prior to Christmas, I purchased a 55" Vizio smart TV and am VERY unhappy with the channels available through their App. Vizio, in conjunction with Yahoo, have decided what limited channels I might be interested in, and such selection is very limited in my viewpoint. As such, after the fact, I purchased a Roku 3 so I could see the streaming channels I was interested in.

While the price and picture of my Vizio is/was very good, I should have either just purchased a dumb Vizio TV and added streaming hardware to it or just purchased another brand. While I'm not quite sure exactly what streaming channels my daughter gets on the Samsung smart TV we purchased for her, last Christmas, her Samsung seems to offer many more streaming channels than my Vizio.

Prior to purchasing any smart TV, I would check what streaming channels are available through their system to see if your interests match up with what is offered.

edit: I looked up the "Apps" offerings on the Samsung website, and while I can't say they have more Apps that I would be interested in compared to, say, Vizio, what Samsung (and others do) does have is giving the purchaser the ability to surf the web and find the streaming channels/websites they might be interested in (Vizio does not give the purchaser direct access to the internet. You are limited to their Apps). However, to view most of the television stations that also stream (such as ESPN, FSN1, HGTV, etc.), you would have to already have a cable/satellite service that subscribes to those channels so that you can log in to see said streaming programming. Having this feature already built in eliminates the need for ROKU, Google Chromecast, etc.

Have purchased more than 100 Vizios over the years.

Used them in our booths for trade shows.

The only issues were broken screens from ham fisted event services guys dropping them while setting them up.

I bought a 65 inch Vizio E-Series 4K home theater display about 2 month ago. You can use your tablet or phone and cast it to the display, as well as 4 HDMI inputs, USB, ect... It is not a smart tv. There's not much 4K out there to watch yet, but it has a great picture in 1080. It was around $1100.
