Wife has the 7 Plus. Too large for my taste but the camera is much better than the 6.

I'm holding out for the 8.
My 5s has update 10.2 so I will order 2 blink cameras. Thanks for the help!

Update.

My Blink cameras have been trouble free and useful.

I've videoed prowlers searching my porch. And when we're away, my cameras alert me when people knock on my door and let me make sure my cat is okay. Last trip, I didn't see my cat entering and exiting her cat door, I called my neighbor, he went into my house (we have each other's keys) and found the cat locked in a bedroom. The same neighbor has cameras, on one of his trips he saw someone prowling his back yard, called me, I went over and checked things out, no entry and I was able to verify his house was okay.

They run for a year on two AA batteries, work fine outdoors if under an eave. I've ordered one of their waterproof outdoor cameras and will have it watch my cars in the driveway.

I have added two outdoor Blink cameras. As you say they run on AA batteries and I thought they would get frozen solid in our below freezing temps. After six weeks I have replaced one set with lithium batteries. They are $5 can each. Quite expensive but worth their while for piece of mind.

The Blink cameras are so small that I don't know if anybody even notices them. Like jyl I have mine set under the eaves so it would need a ladder to remove them.

Highly recommended for the price.

I do not have the option of going hard wired without spending yuge money. These cameras work very well. Lot's of options on settings. I set all cameras at the lowest quality video to save battery life, picture is still great. Easy to install. I even put one in a tree to capture a blind spot. Night vision quality is very good as well.

I wish I could look at live feed all the time, but not feasible. They detect motion and let you know immediately. Just another layer of protection for me. You are able to get a 30 day feed of all images detected on motion for $10.00 a month. A happy customer.
so it can be used to see who's knocking on your door?

I like the blink for my vacation home because I they act as an alarm (motion sensor) and I can check the temperature at each remotely to see what the temp is (worried about pipes freezing). I had relatives with a key stop by and check it out and it worked great. Came on as they opened the door and I could watch high-res recordings of what they were doing and what they said in every room and the garage.

I currently have 3 Amcrest high def units and one Homeboy. The Amcrest are IP3M-941B and IP3M-956E and have been working great. I got them over the last two months for about $80 each. I like being able to check live high def video as well as setting up motion detection. I can get and email with video clip or several high def photos. I find the motion detection to be very good. The images are great at night and day.

The Homeboy is positioned inside (hidden) and has georeferenced alarming - automatically arming when I leave the house. It goes months without a need to recharge.

Maybe try rechargeable lithiums?

I bought one of the "outdoor" Blink cameras that has night vision. Works fine.

They are coming out with a video doorbell.

Blink has been bought by Amazon so I'd expect Alexa integration eventually, if that matters.

For $99/camera, I'm very happy. Maybe Amazon will make them cheaper . . .

Yes, we have an iPad hanging in the hall connected to only one of the Arlos as a door viewer.
I can also start the cameras from everywhere with my phone and see what is going on whenever I want to.

The Blink cameras work similarly.

Has anyone tried Ring products? I am considering adding one of their doorbells for front coverage, two of their floodlight cameras to replace existing floodlights to cover the backyard, and one of their spotlight cameras to replace an existing exterior light to cover a side door. I like being able to hardwire to replace existing lights, and the UI seems very simple and intuitive. $10/mo for cloud based video storage is a bit annoying but not obscene.

Okay, someone's gotta try this and report back, please.

https://www.wyzecam.com/

1080p, nightvision, motion detection, two way audio, live view, 14 day cloud recording free, wireless, USB powered (so not completely wireless), good reviews, $20 per camera.

$20.

C'mon, someone try it.
