Not a one-liner, but I was doing a major reno a few years ago and asked PPOT to help me with some ideas on how to use the space by my side entrance. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1474130810.jpg

This is what I got

IIRC It was a Peter Egan caption of a photo where I guy was standing by the side of the road, looking at his crashed car was down the embankment and in the woods.

Very funny one liner. What I read is someone found the picture but knew separately about the funny line.

Got permission from Egan to use it with this photo. Maybe this is the original?

Was there a cartoon prior to this photo and caption?

2 VERY classic PPOT phrases:

"Pictures or it never happened"
"This thread is useless without pictures"

Yes, you're right... in R&T mag.

Not a cartoon.

And the car was a Ferrari 512BB. Someone actually wrote the whole story behind the now iconic photo recently; who the guy was, where it happened, etc.

"Farking Porsche heros"

A comment posted in response to one of the Rich & Skip's Excellent Adventure write ups after we had driven our cars off road up to an old ski area.

Not a one-liner but one of the first things I read when joining in 2009. I paraphrase the OP.

Don't be discouraged by the many Tech Forum posts about cars that don't run/quit running/run poorly, etc. These are cars that might not have been well cared for to begin with and their owners are working through perhaps years of neglect to make things right. The rest of us were fortunate to find better cared-for cars and are out driving them (and thus are not posting).

Buying a Porsche is a lot like marriage. It's all about selection...

Idiotic advice I've given to people looking to buy a 911.

"You don't choose the Porsche, the Porsche chooses you."

" Never break more than you can fix" I don't remember his name but he posted regularly on the 944 tech forum before he passed on..

Dottorre's " I weep for America"

I really enjoyed somehow squirming out from behind the wheel, slamming the door and walking away from it.

I first saw this quote on Dottore's signature. Always loved it.

"These are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others."
