It's not the 500 plus horsepower that get the job done on heavy diesel engines...its the 1500 pounds of torque that accompany the mere 500 hp.

There are a number to be found for sale on the Internet.
There is one stored on the property right next to my sister's place here in N Az. I could check if it is available. If you would better describe what you are looking for it might help your search. A good body, a driver, completed conversion? Also what part of the country is best for you? More details could lead to better help. Cheers Richard |

I think there is two styles of the Scenic cruisers.
Both have windows facing front up on the roof. One style is way towards the front , the other about 1/2 back. Either would work. GMC was the major player- Mack made it for a very short time too. A runner of any sort is perffect to get it home in the NE sector. Or all most a runner. Towing or flat bedding is pretty spendy. 1955 General Motors GM Coach PD-4501 Scenicruiser RV Conversion | ClassicBusDepot.com http://s971.photobucket.com/user/pd4501771/library/Scenicruiser%20PD4501-227%20For%20Sale?sort=6&page=1

I'm still waiting for a call back from the owner of the one next to my Sister's place.
I will let you know if it turns out to be available. It would most likely require hauling on a trailer to move it any distance. Cheers Richard |

This one was sitting out on Rt 50 in Ocean City Maryland for the longest time. Its converted to a motor home. Not sure if its still there. I would have snatched it up if I had the room for it.

I saw this one at the AHRMA historic MC races at Willow Springs this past April. It was beautiful. Even had a tin roof inside.

Pretty sure that Fixable belongs to Bernard Juchli. Jay Leno's chief mechanic.
It's a beautiful modernized conversion. He was probably there racing in a sidecar rig, was national champ last year when I met him at Laguna Seca. He and his wife did the high quality work on the coach in their back yard. Cheers Richard They did a very nice interior. ![]() ![]() |

I used to think i had ideas.
it seems the universe installs them in everyone at once. As soon as i started looking for a scenicruiser it seems everyone had the same idea ! There were several for sale last month when i was just starting to get the itch. Dang Universe.....

Been meaning to touch back in with you Afterburner.
Since I have not heard back from the owner here in all this time. I think we are safe in concluding that he is not interested in selling his bus. Good luck in finding the one you are looking for. Cheers Richard |

WOW! If that's as discribed, it may be to one you have been waiting for Afterburn!
Nice find Mark. I wouldn't wait to check it out. The stainless siding looks nice, would probably clean up beautifully. On the Fixable we looked at earlier, Bernard was able to find nos siding for his rig. There is an active group of Fixable owners. Could paint a greyhound on the section between the Windows after you get rid of that silly trim piece. Shoot, the new tires are worth almost the asking price. I know it's not the exact model you are looking for. May be worth adjusting your sights for. Looking forward to any follow up. Cheers Richard Last edited by tevake; 10-15-2016 at 02:45 PM.. |
