Is there any way to get a closer look? Where is it at? If you google Scenicruiser images, I think you will agree the raised roof starts lot further back, about the 1/2 mark. -That appears to me about the 1/3 mark? Take another look and let me know...I have been wrong B4. LOL To The rest of you less then romantics - Two axles in the rear provide a LOT more stability. One axle is a dualy drive axle. The other is a Tag axle with two tires. Next- You probably have not ever restored anything? No passion in your lives? To one person its a 57 Chevy, to another a Porsche. Not all things are to be scrutinized with a slide rule. Some people restore Mack Trucks. Some people sit in a bar and drink every afternoon. Which one of these fits you knockers? Let it go already. And the 'other'' Trailways type bus has a 2 piece upper windshield with 2 openings with a white roof strut in the center. The SceniCruiser has a 2 piece upper windshield with 1 opening and a small black trim divider in the middle. Exactly Like the one in deapp's pic. The upper windshield sure looks like one!
Must be optical confusion as the raised roof looks like it starts too soon at the front. If it is a Senicruiser I would like to talk to the owner! |

I will try to get a better/closer look. It's in Riverside, CA - bad part of town too - I think it might be a (former?) diesel engine repair facility. I saw no signs of life - other than dogs!

Also, if you do some searching, you can get close to pinning down the location of the cracks at the rear. I found a thread about it when you first started this thread.
I remember Scenicruisers from my childhood; thought they were the coolest and best looking buses in the world. |

Here's an interesting option - an ACF-Brill 101. Too bad it was only a prototype...

Hey afterburn - yesterday my wife and I were headed North 81 coming from a few days with in-laws in Tennessee and thought of you. Just as we were passing Blacksburg, Va. what do I see goin South? A scenic cruiser! Now I just caught the 3/4 view as we were pass each other but it was painted a baby-poop brown with a cream stripe.........................ugh. I assume it was the real thing.

Some people have inept color and decorating skills . It should be looking like a Greyhound! (the Senicruiser you saw going South) So far, no luck - BUT- I have several waiting to be looked at all over the USA. Problem is most have been modified, floors lowered, roofs raised, which could be fixed. I would rather find one structurally as it was made originally made. I am buried in work right now anyway. AB, what is the advantage of a vintage Scenic Cruiser over a newer models that you customize? Is it a matter of “they don’t make it like they used to” or is vintage cheaper, or you just like the look and style? Just curious as to how the old classics stack up to modern metal. Car technology has certainly advanced but I can see a state of the art 1950s-70s diesel bus or truck being fairly comparable (or could be made so with tasteful strategic upgrades) to modern metal.

Iconic. The BOSS. Lead Dawg. Made for only two years. Elvis road in one. Hoyt Axton owned one. The rest are just busses. |

I really want a Vixen Motorhome with the BMW turbo diesel option. I almost purchased one 2 years ago and stopped myself. It is really appealing to me that it gets over 30 MPG and supposedly handles very well considering it is a motorhome.

Ok - finally made it back for a second look. They've moved a few things around and I can't even see it from the front
anymore, but I believe in the shot below you can see the side of it - the bus with the "S". Is that for Scenicruiser? Others: It's a cornucopia of buses ![]()
