I go to Minute Man Park every year. It is truly a holy place. Think of the men who fought there. A quiet comes over you, pensive, introspective, question whether you are doing your part of being an American. The place really hits home and makes you think.

We are so fortunate to live in the best country in the world.

I received an email from my aunt this morning that talked about the fate of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. As it said, something you don't learn in schools. Very humbling to read what those patriots went through so we could enjoy our beer, fireworks, and more beer.

Yes, those original signers not only formed a new country but also signed their own death warrants as they committed high treason against the British empire. (My high school history teacher did teach us about this although it wasn't in the canned history book we were using.) Most of those men were hunted by the Brits, had their land/wealth destroyed, and certainly not treated well if captured...

Not sure which TV channel, but the Boston celebration tonight is not to be missed.
My g/f wants us to go there in a few years...is it the 250th celebration?
