Boycott Scotland

Not because of anything they did, but because their whiskey sucks!

Burnt, over-roasted, over-priced, over-hyped brown liquid

I'm here right now. Been here for almost three weeks. I have a vinguard full of distillery only bottles. Talisker, Oban, Laphroaig, Lagavulen, Ardbeg, Bunnahabain.

You are right - these all really suck. I'll probably use them for cleaning parts and getting stains off the driveway.

Oh, and now it's over to Ireland for a couple of weeks. I'll add some Red Breast, Jamieson's, and Green Spot. Probably use all of that to start the barbeque.

Psstt... Skip the Jameson and go with Powers (Johns Lane Reserve is my favorite) and if you are up in the LondonDerry area try the Quiet Man which is a new distiller.

Tour the Bushmills distillery, they sell a 12 y/o there that you can only buy there.

I agree with OP, I am not fond of the peaty Scotches, I find them to be too harsh, maybe when my tastebuds dull some more I will like them.

I have been boycotting Scotch, Wine, Vodka, Gin virtually every liquor in the liquor store for over 30 years. I drink beer. From Coors Light to my favorite, Erdinger Dunkel. OK, Coors Light is only when I go to someones house and that is all they have.

Jeff.
Get yourself east of Inverness into Speyside. A little town called Rothes has two distilleries, Glen Grant and Glen Rothes. You might find those to your liking. Or, if you're headed up to the Orkney Islands, stop at Clynelish, in a little town called Brora, about an hour north of Inverness. 8 years in Bourbon casks, four years in sherry.

I really don't care for the peaty taste of the western isles stuff most days, but you could drop the Talisker off as you're flying past Nova Scotia.

Best
Les

I don’t drink but I’ll boycott Scotland, just like Starbucks.

Damn...I’m 0 for 2!

Can we boycott something I do?

Other than the Loch Ness Monster, which is fun to watch splashing about in the waves, I can't think of anything I like about Scotland. So I'm in on the boycott too.
