66 911 rustbucket

i got a 66 911 its got a 3litre with a 5 speed carberated.i was tryin to sell the car, everyone who called about it wanted pics of the pan..so i started pokin around under the car,it had some floor replacement done on it,(really ****ty)so i have a custom shop (super rat)..and i figured i'd take the car off the market, fix the rust, repaint the car cuz i hated the color, then try n sell it,well i tore the car down to a skeleton and started wire wheeling the whole undercarriage, well theres rust holes beyond the replaceable floorpans, the bottoms of the tunnels on each side of the car including the jack locations,i can cut all this out and replace it,but im wondering if theres a point where its just not worth it to mess with a car and just part it out?..on the other hand im thinkin of turning this car into a street/track type car since its already been bastardized....i dont know that much about 911's since im mainly a motorcycle and aircooled vw guy.but the engine has a sticker on the shroud that says 930 turbo, does this mean the longblock could be turboed without having to mess with the engine internals much?i'll try get some pics up tommorow, thanks in advance for any help.

a vw guy ? me to i got bit by the vw bug when i was just a kid . as for the 911 like our beloved vw the pans always go . but unlike our vw parts cost alot ! i would say sell it as is . as you know when you start some thing like that it some times turns into a money pit . and you my get more money for it but you have to look at your profit margin .

Welcome to the board.

If you remove the engine transmission and rear trailing arms (and front suspension possibly depending on your front suspension). You can put it on your jig (or rotisserie it).

There are inner and outer rocker panels to replace. 66 3 l with carbs. Super Rat. Awesome build worth it.

Regards,

installing a unabody car on a rotisserie in most cases is not a good adea . if you do you have to cross brace the hell out of it . and then it makes it a pain to work around the bracing . what we do in my shop is square up the car on a frame bench . we made the ones we use for resto's out of I-beams . but in my frends shop he made one out of 6 by 6 wood beams .
