PKE Push Button Start Install

Has anyone installed a PKE Push Button start on an older 911, specifically 78? Thought I had found a post where someone had mapped out the electrical connections of the ignition switch but can't seem to find that anymore,

thanks

Why on earth would you want that, is your ignition switch broken?

at the risk of answering a rhetorical question,,, yes my ignition switch is broken as they are prone to doing, and not just the electrical part, the mechanical pawl broke off - so given the enhanced security, ease of use and ample supply/selection at reasonable prices I had assumed this was something that someone else had already thought of and tried out,,

Run a red 12 gauge wire for Switched power from the fuse panel (you Pick) to the button. Then run a 12 gauge yellow to the area with a yellow wire with a single pole connector coming off the back of the ignition switch 6 pin thru dash connector. (In the trunk) Replace the one coming out of the 6 pin connector. (Connects to the one going to the through body harness to the starter solenoid)

thanks - I was wondering if I could simply plug wires with bullet connectors into the female connection that normally plugs onto the electrical portion of the ignition switch,

the new switch has:

Red + power 12V+
Black - Ground
Brown + On2
Blue + Acc
Yellow + Start
While + On1
Green = either connect to brake or clutch switch

I want to do exactly this in my '78 SC. Did you end up doing it and, if so, did you have any further details/pics of what you did?

I actually ended up purchasing a new porsche ignition switch and steering lock assembly, it wasn't cheap but easy to install, works great and I am trying to be very selective about what I change from stock on the car and the push button idea just seemed a little too far for me, only issue is I have one key for doors and one for ignition now but that is fine,
