Did you incorporate mounting studs or brackets in bumper? My Fiberglass bumper came with none.

We actually made a pretty cool mini reinforcement bar with posts that guide into the front apron. Not sure what all we will do for the rest of the mounting locations but the bumper fits very nicely only with the two posts slid in

Getting closer and closer to being ready to cast our bumper. After a little more work we get to pop out the prototype and lay up the final bumper

Love watching the fiberglass process. It’s so cool when done to this level

Mold is finished

Carbon layup begins. This is just the dry material as we will be vacuum bagging the part with the resin. We will be doing carbon with a ply of Kevlar for safety.

Would you have to make a different kind of mold in order to use prepreg?

Carbon as it’s stronger and “cooler” than fiberglass and Kevlar for safety to prevent the carbon from shattering into pieces in the event of a collision

Yep. There is a guy on Corner Carvers that built a 95% carbon Mustang years ago and went off track in a race.
There was nothing left of his hard work. Car looked like it exploded.
I guess he didn't know about the Kevlar part.

And that bumper is awesome! Are you going to sell them?
