Ingo Schmitz - 1/Bad ECU - 0

I just wanted to share the positive experience I had dealing with Ingo Schmitz, a member of this board. I sent him my ECU on a Saturday. It arrived in California this past Friday. Today is Wednesday, and the repaired unit arrived and is now back in my car.

And it runs great!

If anyone has any ECU issues, I will highly recommend Ingo for the repairs. In addition to his electrical skills, he has outstanding communication skills.

I wish all my repair interactions were this painless.

Have to agree, saved my bacon on my DME and helped me sort through my non start issues later that turned out to be a buggy speed reference sensor. His understanding of the DME system, and troubleshooting skills, are VERY helpful.

I think all original Motronic boxes should go out to Ingo! He will test them, resolder cracked connections, and upgrade the box to the latest chip version. These boxes are going on 30 years old now, cheap insurance for something that your car needs to run properly..
