My first 911. 1966. Bought in 1997 for $2k from an airline mechanic in Littleton MA. Sold in 2006 or 07 for not much more to a fellow who owned a body shop in NJ. I know. I know…Would love to know where it is now.

My early Porsche is a built-in 1965, titled as 1966 912. Not quite a 901. A 902 perhaps? It has been changed a bit, the biggest change being a 2,7 l motor. It has many of the parts in the OP. What’s missing are the steelies, the wood veneer dash and rubber-less bumper guards. I plan to change those and get it close to a 901 from the outside.

Its a 911 in my mind

1985 3.2 Carrera Targa

New to the Porsche world after much wishing and analyzing - thought to get in cheap with a 3.4 996.1, ended up with a restored (minus engine and gearbox) leaf blower

It was restored in 2016 to a very nice standard, painted in this custom colour as wished by the previous owner - making it quite unique i think. Only i'm thinking of removing the whale tail - somehow doesn't suit a Targa...

This is my entrance to the Porsche world. Originally i wanted to do a cheap 911 entry with 996.1 3.4 Carrera 2, hoping to spend around 30k eur, and here i am with a completely restored 1985 3.2 Carrera Targa (German delivery) in a custom paint know as "Previous-Owner Blue" - and i really like it!
Super happy with my choice! I use it daily for commute to work and school runs, but also there's room for me to tinker with it. Brilliant!

Can't decide if to keep the whale-tail or not tho...

The blue looks great. And according to the Google translator it is Vorbesitzer Blau.

That blue looks similar to Aetna Blue, a 356 color. I think that tail is skinny enough to stay! It'd be interesting to see if you feel a difference at higher speeds if you removed it.

[QUOTE=bertsboat;11827955]This is a 911 modified by Porsche in 1974 to look just like a 74 US Carrera. They did a pretty good job. Considering it is all original is a testament to how they did their cars. I was going to convert it back to a 1974 Carrera but I sort of like how they did it from the factory. You can see the Carrera behind the Caddy. That was taken about 1985. Don’t have the Caddy but still have the Carrera!

Very nice
