Hey Stew,
Sorry we missed you on the pre-run. I called your house and got your wife, she said that you were out mowing the lawn and she'd take a message and you'd call us back...I wasn't using my phone at the time and didn't know the number of the phone I was using....sorry about that. See ya on the 26th though! |
Another Pre-drive pic. . .

Hey!
That second shot makes my A$$ look really wide! Now Island, you wouldn't be *stretching* your shots for effect, would you??? http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/nahnah.gif |
heh heh. . .no stretching for effect.
You are likely seeing the effects of the wide-angle lens. That, and the effects of your fat bottom girl. ;) |
I'm in, rooms booked Sat and Sunday.
Thanks!!! Can't wait....... |
And don't forget about the beer on the Shuswap for Thursday night Rob. I'll provide the beer!

"GRuppe B Gruppe B" the masses begin to chant in time. The natives are restless!

Gruppe B invasion aside; here are a few teaser shots from last years Round-up:
Driving "on the edge" from Shawn Davis. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/cliff.JPG "Does red make my butt look big" http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/P8130486.jpg Mountains! We might even see a few on Round-up 2003. ;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...tweek2post.jpg |
Wow! Those are great pictures! Giving me motivation to organize another mid-west fun run!
|
Thanks for the flashback, island.
The first one brings back some particular memories.... That stretch of road has been evil for years. Rock-falls happen continuously. I still remember coming around a blind corner at considerable speed, only to find the road strewn with baseball-sized rocks. I tried to avoid the biggest ones, but still managed to have one bounce around under the car. I was lucky it didn't take out the throttle or something else. |
Great pictures, lots of fond memories from last year's trip. We're just sorry that we have other commitments this year. By the way Glen, concerning that caption I realize the Turbs getting a little long in tooth but middle age spread hasn't set in too bad yet, plus she still looks good in red.... She is getting cranky though, ate a couple 3.6s for breakfast :) then had something that said Gruppe B for a snack ......
|
snack'n eh? heh-heh
Yeah, that was one nasty flame-ball of a burp we saw, when you blew passed us, last year. I'll just add, the last thing I expected at the moment I caught up to those silver 911s, was another car closing fast! ;) That picture, Eric Coffey shot after things calmed down. I have it as a backdrop on my laptop. . .it's an even better pic' at 1600x1200. . .crystal clear, and reminds me of the most memorable stretches of road up there. :D Well, there is next year! It should be up in Canada next year, if all goes well. Give me a shout if I didn't already send you the pict's from last year. BTW, she looks great. . . even after eating all those hearty 3.6's for breakfast. ;) |
Love the teaser pic's. I also fondly remember that stretch of road. Unfortunately I chose that particular section to let my co-pilot have a turn at the wheel....his first time driving a 911. I think he's finally forgiven me for screaming at him to "go faster...don't lift...we're loosing them!!!"
Just a reminder for those of you who may still be on the fence....the Hood River Inn will return any unreserved rooms back to the public after June 26th so book your rooms now for this years Round-Up!!! Also, anyone that's close to Hood River please consider joining us for day two...the route is firming up nicely. One hint....we'll be lunching at the historic Timberline Lodge up on Mt. Hood. It's going to be a great event.... |
Timberline Lodge
Awesome, Marc !
