Ebrake install help for 930 rears on 911SC

Hi all!

I looking to work out what parts I need to reinstall a mechanical ebrake system on my 911SC that has 930 brakes installed.

I believe all the ebrake parts have been removed as this was a racecar and gutted in a previous life.

Are brake parts universal? I will get some pics shortly to work out what to do!

Any other options other than factory ebrakes handle / actuator that are popular?

e-brake using 930 calipers

This kind of implies I need something custom….

Willwood mech calipers or some mod to factory stuff to make it work. My calipers are indeed on the forward side of the rotor.

Maybe it would work on a 911 vs the thread is for 914? Unclear.

SC and 930 e-brakes parts ae the same, just reinstall the SC or Carrera stuff.

No, the are not. Besides different shoes/springs (at least in PET) different mechanism:






PS: Or do you mean 930 non turbos (no 4-piston calipers)?

Were your 930 brakes redrilled for 3" spacing to fit on the SC trailing arm? In that case I might try SC parts. I think they would work even with the different Turbo rotor but haven't done it personally.

I mean that the SC parking brake works fine w/ either 911 or 930 rotors, I've had mine for over 40 yrs.

yes the 930 calipers need to be modified to 3" leading mounts and the dust shield will need top be discarded, but the parking brakes are totally compatible.

Did this on my "83 SC a while back. All of the parking brake hardware was retained and works perfectly with the 930 rotor. You can see in pic # 3 and # 4 the parking brake backing plate with the rotor installed.

from '78 930 rear calipers are 3.5" trailing mount, stock

all 911 from at least 69 are 3" leading mount, stock

the calipers need to be modified to fit the al. semi trailing arms

or new inner halves w/ the proper 3" mounts purchased, part #911.352.540.00

Ok so consensus seems to be I can get all the SC parking brake gear and it will work! I’ll let you all know how it goes!
