is it possible to retain the parking brake with 930 rear calipers? does it require any modification?

A few different ways to do this:
Line-lock, which some say work, some say they don't, I've never used one. or Convert the rear trialing arms to accept the 911 parking brake which is actually a drum brake mounted "inside" the rotor. Vellios or Rich Johnson I think offer these kits...not cheap or make a bracket and mount a Wilwood Mechanical Spot Caliper (about 70 bucks each for the calipers) Clay Perrine (sp?) is or was selling a kit for this or maybe just the brackets.

Kelly,
for the mechanically challenged, your answer would make it sound like it's a bolt on procedure, which it is not ![]() also, Brian is a little vague with his question, does he want to know if he can keep his stock 914 parking brakes with the 930 calipers? If so, the answer is a no for sure. Okay, that's a lie, he could use the factory 914 parking brake with the 930 caliper if he mounted the 930 caliper on the trailing edge of the rotor, but that seems like even more work to do that. Great links, I have never seen the 911 parking brake setup even after owning a 911 for a while now (no need to take it apart...yet, LOL)

Mueller,
Perrine's setup is for a 22mm 911 SC rotor..not a 24mm Carrera or a mondo Turbo rotor. B |
