Flag mirror 1976 - where to connect this plug?

Hello,

I have another question for the experts. I purchased this car as a project and finally getting it back together after repaint, engine rebuild and interior work.

I am unable to find this plug in the frunk area that this is supposed to connect once it travels from the door into the car. I started to look under my dash as I thought maybe it was there but my memory is telling me it connected inside the frunk.

I can't seem to find the other connection plug that matches anywhere. Could someone provide an idea of where it would be sitting so I can a better idea of where to start tearing into?

Thanks in advance! Pic below.

Should be near the hood hinges on the respective side of the car. Can be tucked back a bit.

Thanks @silverlock

I was also thinking the same thing as I remembered where I detached it from but can't find it.

It would be helpful if I knew where it had come from... maybe then I could trace backwards to find it! Thanks for any additional help.

Find the only violet/black wire connected to the fuse panel and follow it into a small loom towards the lower hood strut area.

76-77 drawings: remember to count your fuses from the headlight back to steering wheel when using factory schematics.
