PMO carbs Installation Pictures thread
Hi everyone!
Just opened up a brand new box of PMO carbs for my 83 911 SC. I'm hoping to get a thread going where people post close up pictures of their PMO install, the linkages, fuel line routing, breather hose connections, orientation of the carbs themselves and the manifolds, etc.... I'll post some when I get to that point, but I'm hoping people have some pics to look at during this install. No offense to PMO but their documentation doesn't have a lot of pictures in it. I work better from a visual. |

Covered in Carb Tuning Thread
Check the previous link to the Carb Tuning thread - I addressed the throttle linkage issue there.

Gordo2: I'm installing on an 83 911 SC, but I'm installing the short manifolds. Do you think I'll need to update the linkage?

I'm curious as to what approach folks are using in regards to the power brake. I've seen photos of where the threaded port is on the intake manifold but so far I can't find anything showing hoses and such... What type of fitting, whether to use a check valve, hose routing, etc. The brake booster has a check valve but am wondering if people are installing an additional one in the engine compartment.
I haven't reached the "buy the carbs" point yet but am placing orders for -an fuel lines and will be using -an type hoses for vacuum and crankcase so am trying to figure out what to buy. Thanks in advance for any help/photos that can be posted here.

Power brakes connections.
If you order your PMOs for power brakes the left manifold will have a boss drilled into it to accept the included check valve nipple connector that connects directly to your power brake booster vacuum line. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

As per hdrockerroller mentioned, It came with a brass fitting that would fit in the power assist vacuum line (still needs the check valve). Its as simple of repluging the hose that was removed. In my case, I put a T fitting so that I could run a smaller hose to the fuel pressure regulator. ![]()

Can someone post pics of the throttle linkage connections coming from car to PMOs. Do you still use the stock throttle linkage plate that attaches to theblock?

For a reference point, if you look at the left half of the picture you will see 2 of the 3 studs cover with red heat shrink where the old linkage was attached to the block. ![]()

Excellent picture, exactly what I was looking for.
So the PMOs connect directly to the linkage rod that comes through the tin. |
