once again, great work Damon

any chance of a side on shot showing where the lower edge of the existing fender mates up with the extension piece behind the light box?

Damon or Rick, any chance you could post a picture or explain how the front bumper is mounted. What is used to support it?

Thanks, Jeff

jeff, the S front is a standard part I make, Ifab asteel plate to the shock mount, bolted, and glass another flange tothebumper, which bolts to the bumper shock plate. On thesides I utilize the fender support horseshoe shaped bkt, bolts to a flange glassed on L&R innersides ofbumper. The rear getsthesame treatment, aftercuttingoff the reflector panel.

curt,
checked out the article in excellence on the news stand. i don't recall it mentioning how exhaust was dealt with for the 3.6. are you running 993 cats or are you cat-less? smog issues?

Cat..

Bento....I am running a removable straight replaceable ( I know it sounds redundant) stock/modified 3.2 exhaust. In other words, I use my 3.2 cat every 2 years for smog. I bolts in in the exact dimensions as the straight pipe and has ther threaded CO sensor for fuel mixture. The actual exhaust was done custom by a very patient exhaust shop here in Pasadena. We basically manufactured the pieces as we wanted so the final outcome to be "as-stock-looking-as possible" appearence wise. Most exhaust shops have the expensive tube bending machines need to make this possible. Sounds very good also...

Yep, that has the SC/Carrera flare. If you are not changing colors, the backdate can be done in 2 weeks or less. Take bumpers off, get the fiberglass fenders and front bumper fitted, send fenders out for paint (match to your current color), while fenders are at the paint shop, cut the rear reflector panel off (a grinder with a thin disk works like a charm), fit the rear bumper, send rear bumper out for paint. Get all parts back and assemble. Front turnsignals can be something cheap until you get the right part. RW Parts has a front lense replacement that uses a single light like the 911R's. "Thrownhammer" (Shawn) has it on his car. He also has the trear LED lights from RW Parts.

Tweek's online catalog is not as good as their paper one. Tweeks is not the cheapest, but they have a lot of restoration parts. Come to think of it, the Performance online catalog isn't as good as their paper one either.

I know for sure that Tweeks has chrome or black horn grills.

I have a couple of pitted ones that could use a blasting and replating if you want them..have no idea what they are worth.

Rick or Damon,
Is it possible with your short hood fender update to fill that seam between the new turn signal light box and old fender to create a more finished look (i.e. a permanant install) ?
Thanks,
Eric
