So how does the new hood latch work? How do you reach up there to 'unhook' it after pulling the release?

I'm going over to series 900 right now. Maybe I can push Damon to put some more info in.

Glasgow...at this point hood latch is a hand length away. It easy enough to get in and out of. We are going to weld a little tab on it to make life a little easier.

Here are some photos with Series 900 fiberglass back date. Remember this was just positioned for the pictures. It will need the normal rubber seals and so on.
Also there is a pic of the "kit" that Damon has put together. I have more pics if you want to see more. Hopefully he will jump in with his two cents. ![]() ![]() ![]()

more pics of the kit! does the hood have a latch that lines up in the post 74 location? i already did one backdate but i am looking to build a street car and would be very interested in using these pieces on a sc or carrera. series 900 give us more details including some pricing.

I don't know where Damon is. He has been working like a dog on my car. The hood latch is in the correct position for 74 and up. But, because of the long hood, you will have to weld a small extension on the hood latch. You can open the hood w/o it but, this just makes it more convienent.
As far as pricing, I think he is still working on it.

Yah, I am beat. Yes the hood latch remains in the post 74 location, I can fit my hand up to the latch, and with a small extension welded to the safety catch, it will be very easy for anyone to release. The hood pops nicely with out hood shocks, just the rubber seal provides the spring. The major point in the package that I have created is no cutting/welding. It is all bolt on. Want to sell your car, unbolt the parts and return to stock. And this is accurate, the hood mold is the same outer skin I use to make early hoods. The S bumper, the same. the RS rear bumper requires cutting off of the reflector box between the taillights.

Damon,
Looks Excellent!!! Glad to see that you have really made some progress in this conversion. Any chance we could talk you into making some extra front light housings shown in the above pictures? This way we could use post-73 front fenders with the long hood and early style turn signals and backdate to our hearts content! These fenders do not rust and are available for a reasonable price, something that cannot be said about the 69-72 front fenders very often. Thx, JoeA

thanks for the compliments, yes the entire package is available. We will have 2complete kits available at the end of the month, pricing reflects labor/materials and will be determined as the RnD time is now over. So stay tuned, I have to assemble rcm's car this week, and he will post more pictures of the final product.

Damon,
Any chance to make just the front parts that adapt a newer front fender to the old style spoiler? Have already got all the glass to backdate my car but would really like to stay with the orginal front fenders... Please say please and hope its affordable! Thanks, Joe
