Yeah, about an hour and a half seems to be a good estimate in a Porsche. I went from San Diego - Pacific Beach - in an hour 45 when I was driving my friend's brand new G-35 at 11:00 at night - average speed was close to 100.

You should make the trip, it would be worth the time spent.

I will be out of town that weekend on business, and believe me, I almost said that I wouldn't go. Hard to explain the importance of a Pelican gathering to this employer, though.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to the OTR event on the 21st...I've pretty much committed to the PCA Zone 8 Time Trial circuit in '04...which leaves me penniless...

The Gelson's? Where's that? Last time was the Reel Inn.

CHILI, you're good at getting lost. Start at the Reel Inn and go up the road. They'll come blowin' by somewhere along the way!

Seriously, Gelsons Market is off the 101 at Mullholland and is where they start from. They eat at the RI after (which is probably a good idea).

Chilli - Gelson's is on Mulholland. To get there, take the 101 N., get off on Topanga. Take Topanga west to Mulholland ('bout 3 miles). At Mulholland, make a right, go around the bend to a shopping center-like place, and Gelsons is in there on the northwest corner. We park closest to the street so we can make our quick getaway.

We've never eaten at the Reel Inn after one of these runs. We're fixated on Coogies now. Good big pancakes with lots of syrup, butter and niacin pellets after you finish eating.
