Same place, same time, same roads, same eatery...

Where do you meet? What time do you meet? How long is the drive? Do they have a nice salsibury steak lunch?

Gelsons on Mulholland in Calabassas at 9AM. The drive's 90-120 minutes, then we go to eat. Last time it was Coogie's on PCH. Before, it was Marmalade on Cross Creek. Both are in Malibu.

Haven't seen "steak" anywhere...yet.

Anyone know how far this is from Escondido? I might be able to bring the Beast out.

Thanks Scott. I wouldn't want to displace that lovely co-pilot you had New Years Day. But if that seats clear I may take you up on it.

I'm guessing 2.5 hours if light traffic, 3.5 if its bad. But I would do it in the Beast just to be in it for that long.

We're only racing to be first in line for the Salisbury Steak.

Mark, bring that turbocharged bad boy down here. We'll let you lead the group.

2 1/2 hours! sheeet. I'd love to meet all you guys but that's a long ride. We'll see what the status is in a couple of weeks. The car is starting to run pretty good, been making good progress on the tuning. It's now making 400hp and 400ft lbs but I'm running out of fuel injectors at 95% duty cycle. cheers all.

Hey Mark,

Plug in this address to Yahoo Maps or Mapquest, along with your starting point (home) you'll get a feel for the commute. I think you could make it in more like 1:45-2:00 but I haven't done the SD drive in quite some time.

With 400 hp, you can cut the Mapquest estimate in half.

I can't remember what part of San Diego Escondido is, but I have made it from my door near DT L.A. to LaJolla in 1:15 several times. (Exactly 120 miles). I also make it from my door to the Gelson's meeting place in ~15 minutes early on a weekend AM. Depends on your willingness to speed on an (almost) empty freeway, though.

Escondido = E. San Diego county, I think.

Denis: you drive too fast!
