Must see the 2004 GT3 RSR in excellence.

Just checking out the issue of Excellence and dreaming about the GT3 RSR. VERY VERY COOL!!

I agree, this is not a psuedo RSR. They did things right this time.

that car is covered in the GT Purely Porsche mags as well. It also has a nice 5 page layout on the 1988 Carrera ClubSport

I'm sure my excellence will show up one of these weeks. Still don' t why they can't get faster distribution.

It looks kinda "ricey" with the red "R". Sorta like an Acura script. Other than that, really nice.

personally, jacks bbII did it for me. a real timeless favorite for me. It finally drove me over the edge and I paid for a subscription to excellence instead of bumming old copies from friends.

Here are a few specs from the article:

3598 cc with 99.99mm bore and a 76.40mm stroke
445hp at 8250 rpm
redline at 8500 rpm
sequential 6 speed gearbox

Any guesses on how much fun that thing would be to drive

2450 pounds. 450 hp. Big fat flares.

I know it's a 996, and those rear lights are still way too high -- but it's growing on me.

(Must win the lottery, soon.)

This '04 RSR thingy must be a mistake; Porsche doesn't build lightweight racecars anymore . . . just big 'ol trucks and girlie two-seaters.

Kurt

How about that 910 replica on the same issue? That looks really sweet too.

Hmmmm I am thinking a beat high mileage 99' 996, $4K in Wheels, bolt on flares, racing buckets and $2.5 K for PSS9 suspension. Followed by Eric McKennas lightening program and Wahla - a pretty cool street/track water pumper. Probably need a GT racing nose and replica GT3 tail to complete.

I like it too - even if it is a water pumper and Elombard think you might have the right idea. Maybe there is a future out there...

If you have driven a well prepared( PCA stock C) 996 you would be very plesantly surprised. These cars are CRAZY fast. Also, Porsche has been building these cars for a while, how else could they keep winning LeMans every year, not to mention sweeping the GT class in Grand Am and American LeMans series.

Cheers, James

If you think that RSR's sweet, imagine what the Carrera GT Le Mans racer is gonna look like. And don't try to tell me they're not gonna build one ... Porsche doesn't build a car like the Carrera GT unless they plan to do some serious racing.

Examples?

550 Spyder, the original Carrera GT (356 body-style), 956/62 (which were made into road-going monsters by Dauer during and after their glory years), 959, GT-1 ... all supercars of their era and all were raced by the factory.

It's a sweet ride. I'd take one.

It doesn't look rice. Rice wants to look like this.
