Old thread, I know. Tried to send Matt-Man an email. Do you still make these hinges? I would very much like to buy a pair together with the mountings for the extra strut. Thanks! Regards Knut

Hinges for sale

If anyone needs a set of hinges, I listed a set in the classified section Yesterday.
I will also supply the power switch and a double set of hood shocks with it.
I bought them from Matt but sold the car before I had a chance to use them.

Does anyone know if Matt-Man is still around doing these hinge mods? Any other sources?

I hope he is still around. His hinges are legend among the longhood clan.

Edit: Hmmmmm going on two years since his last post, HEY MATT! ARE YOU STILL AROUND?

Rennline is making them now. I purchased a set for my 1985 with a 964 decklid, although they have not been installed yet so can't comment on the fit.

Thanks for that link. I like the adjustability. They aren't giving them away, though.

Hmm this is becoming an expensive project...

The cost is being offset by the giggles I'm getting as I commit sacrilege and paint a 964 decklid and tail Cashmere Beige (aka hearing aid tan).

I actually don't mind that colour. Years ago I painted a 74 Targa Pastel Beige. Slightly whiter that yours but I love both colours.

Back to your original question. I have a 964 engine cover on my 76. I used a set of original 964 hinges but I heat them up with gas and slightly bent them to fit. They aren't adjustable but they work and it was cheap.

Good luck,
Frank

964 spoiler micro switch issue??

I'm hoping someone who has installed a 964 decklid and electric spoiler can help me out.

I installed a 964 deck lid with the electric spoiler on my SC back date. We installed a dash switch and behind the driver's foot panel a micro switch. The spoiler is not speed activated but raises and lowers with a flick of the dash switch.

It has worked perfectly for a couple of years. But lately, when the spoiler is lowered, it sounds like the micro switch may not be switching the motor off when the spoiler gets to the bottom position when lowered. The spoiler motor keeps clicking for a few seconds.

I wonder if the micro switch might be malfunctioning and need replacement.

Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm not sure if mine is wired the same as yours. I have a switch on the dash, which is connected to an aftermarket power window control module. This module allows for one touch up and down operation of the spoiler. This setup came with the spoiler when I purchased it. Has worked flawlessly for almost ten years.

It appears that the AutoLok controller may no longer be available. Does anyone know where the AutoLok controller can be found or a substitute controller? Mine no longer properly stops the spoiler on the down motion at the end of the cycle. Thanks

This worked for me. I found it online some time ago and credit goes to the genius on here or elsewhere that drew it.
