WOW..........

SIngle best thing this board/community has done indeed!

Theres a side to this that hasn't been touched upon, and that's the angle that Jane has had this thing that was going to be a "headache" in her garage turn into an experience that introduced her to all sorts of nice folk.

I am sure this one act will be a life altering experience for her and her kids.

Status report

Hi all,
progress is a little slow now that winter is here. My garage (barn?) has no heat. The windshield is in, but I'm going to do it again as I'm not satisfied with the trim. The carpets are about to be ordered and the interior needs to be checked and installed along with the rear window.

It runs well but has some starting issues when it's cold, but we'll work that out. Here are a couple of recent pics with the car in my driveway while I arrange storage.

I know you didn't do it for 'recognition', but you guys who have done the work should be commended...EXCELLENT job! I'm sure Barry is even more proud of his car now...

Anything new here, or is it going to be in hibernation for the winter?

The project is in it's quiescent state for the cold New England winter.

I just stumbled on to this thread. I must have been living in a cave or somthing.

I have been involved with Porsches and Porsche people since I can remember (my dad ruined me when I was young). I always knew that the porsche community was a special breed. You can see it at the race track, auotcrosses and everywhere else Porsches and there owners assemble. There are always people ready to lend a helping hand.

We all log onto this board daily, or when we can, and find little bits of information that will help us with our projects or our daily drivers. There is always someone here (most of the time) that can help us when we are stuck.

This effort though is unparalleled. All involved should be commended and know that there will be an angel (Ex-firefighter) that will have there back.

I know that I will drive home and hug and kiss the wife and kids a little longer today.

Cheers to all.

Yes, the project is in semi - hibernation. The carpets and other bits are on order and on warm? days I will do a little on it in the garage. It's a little "tight" in the garage with 11 vehicles and miscellaneous "stuff" but there will be more room in the spring.
Weather changed from snow to fog to rain to snow in the last 24 hours with temps from mid 20's to 50 to a predicted 5 or 10 tonight. Winter is here!

Hey Ed,
If you ever need garage space for a couple of days let me know. We can roll something out for a bit. You know where to find me.

I can't speak for the others on this board, but I feel I am not worthy of the privelage of being associated with you folks doing this work.
Thank all of you. You make the world a better place.

Update

The project is proceding. The snow is almost gone! Lots of cold, rainy weather though. I'm still installing the carpets. Contact cement doesn't like cold temps and takes forever to dry. The new, "safe" water-based stuff is terrible and doesn't stick well. 3M spray adhesive is good but I don't like to use it around the new paint and aleady installed carpet.

There are some pics in the thread "Barry Bennett's car- update"

Try Barry Bennet's car: Update

I'm off to glue some more carpet!

Update

Hi all,
While Damon is off doing "One lap of America" in a Radical SR3 I've been sniffing glue. A few pics attached. There are miscellaneous small bits missing. I"m working up a list that I'll post in a few days. Example: Plastic clips that attach door panels to door, 3+, plastic cap to cover head of seat belt bolt. ( I'll look up the p/n's later) and who knows what else I might discover. Seats go in Sunday. We have a car control clinic tomorrow, in the rain.
