Impressive! It's going to be beautiful and I hope to one day see it in person. It is an unselfish expression of brotherhood, care and respect.

I am humbled by the hard work the local folks are doing. Thank you.

Jane is planning on entering some PCA events including Drivers Ed. MAYBE she will let their three sons drive it.

Waiting on a few parts, chris has the list, I will transport the chassis over to Edgar, He will "Pop" the motor in, drive? it back install carpets and interior, and we should be done. I am hoping we can wrap this up and get it to our local PCA end of the year show, "toys for tots" donation, enter it and have Jane there, then hand her the keys! I may be dreaming, but hell the dream has come a long way....

I'm not as optimistic as Damon. The show is a week away and there are still some parts that I need for the engine in Jane's garage.

Ed B,
Do we need to make a road trip? I do not mind driving down. On me.

I know you guys aren't doing this for the recognition, but people in your area need to know about this. You've donated tons of time and energy and it would be nice if the local PCA let more people know what has been happening. It's nice to hear how people have reached out to help this family.

Amazing work guys!

What are you talking about? I haven't heard anything about this Bennett project. It's just a rumor. Nothing to see here, move along.

I can neither confirm or deny this, but if there was such a project, Damon at Series 900 would be the unsung hero. Even though he only volunteered to paint it for free (not sand it, etc) Damon (and John) have put in at least a couple of weeks work on the car knowing that we can only reimburse him for about half his time. Totally over the top generousity.

Car is now in my garage for engine/tranny install after we find all the missing bits. I'll be working on it today and Sunday. Monday, too probably. (A/X duty Saturday)

Jane would like to help, but won't be home until Monday.

I have to second Chris on his completely hypothetical diatribe about series 900 and all thier work.

I have seats and such here for cleaning and a little stich work. I'm calling Ed to see if we can make the PCA event.

Status report

Chris and Rick came to help yesterday. We moved the car to my lift. Cleaned and serviced CIS, checked the brakes, (needs pads), assembled some bits and added to the shopping list. Damon came by late in the afternoon to "assist".

Here are a few photos of us "working"

I'm not sure what pics have been had. I know there are pics floating around with pics of Jane and the motor in the car. There is another thread out there somewhere.

I'm going by Ed's this weekend to drop off wheels. I will take pics than.

Damon, Chris and Ed, (and also everyone else who has contributed -- but mostly those three guys)

I believe this is the single best thing that the Pelican community has ever accomplished.

You guys rock, and make us proud.

Hi guys,
Went to the local PCA end of the season awards dinner. The most inspiring thing for the evening was that Jane (Barry's wife) got up and read a letter she had written to The National Firefighters Memorial about Barry. She mentioned the Barry's p-car and how managed to get it apart and fill up two garage bays with parts. Not a dry eye in the house.

She thanked all of you guys for helping to get Barry's dream up and running. She thanked Wayne, the peilican board, drivewerks, Chris Bennet and the rest of the guys who have been in touch with her about finishing the car.

Last night rumor had it that Ed, had heard it run, if only briefly and the windshield was going in this week. It's expected to go back to Damon's for interior and trim next week. The final hump.

You've done an outstanding thing guys! Enjoy your Sunday.
