Just when I thought things were going great - I went to move the 911 and when I pushed in the clutch I initially felt some resistance and then the pedal just sunk to the floor. I heard something hit the ground and after some investigation I found that the cluth throw out arm which the clutch helper spring is attached to, broke in half - how does that happen!!!?? Would an incorreclty adjusted cluth caused that to happen? Could any damage have been done to the throwout bearing or pressure plate? Just when I thought I was getting ahead I get knocked two steps back! I attached a pic of the sheared off arm.

Code7rpd, it's tough to tell from the picture but from the coloring on the broken end it looks like it may have had a pre-existing fracture. Regardless, this sucks and I feel for you. I just put my motor back in a couple of weeks ago and I'm still nervous that something I did/didn't do is going to rear its head and require a re-drop! Your project is definitely going to pay for itself very quickly once everythings dialed in!

Sorry to hear about the broken arm on the clutch. Hopefully that is the only thing that is wrong.
Noticed the lift that is holding up the car - what is it and where did you buy it. Since I do a fair amount of work on my cars it looks like a very practical lift. Good luck and thanks. |

Good news all - I got the clutch lever taken care of and I am up and running. I drove to a window shop to have the front and rear windshields put back in correctly and since the front one wasn't seated correctly I didn't push the car really hard.....but.....the drive I did take was incredible..the car just gets up and moves!!! This weekend I will start the interior and hope to have it road ready really soon!!
