Sounds like you're the one to have around, yelcab. I hope you'll be able to make it.

Zoanas...I'm in livermore by the new library. I can give you a hand. Unfortunately, done it more than I can count.

Outstanding. Like I said, you are all welcome. I live in Springtown just off of Springtown Blvd. Toby, you're welcome to get some sun by the pool if there's no room in the garage. I just hope there's enough parking out front!

Oh, this is going to be fun, especially because your car is fairly new. I had a few problems getting my motor out last summer, but overall it was a good time. Shoot me some info!

Why are you pulling it anyway? Just experimenting? With so many hands around maybe I'll let you guys pull my motor too and give it a good scrubbing!

LOL

Yeah, we could have a motor pulling party at my place. I'm way overdue for a valve adjust, and I wanna address some minor leaks around the chain guard. Also, I wanted to try to clean up the engine compartment a little, and maybe go through and replace some of the tired, brittle stuff. I'm also interested in the drop itself.

Zoanas -
can you add me to your buddy list for this? I"m in San Ramon and the wife and kids will be in LA that weekend, so lots of available time and would like help out if not in the way. Basic wrenching experience only, but I think I know where to find the beer in the grocery isle.

Done, slider.

I just came from my wrench, who quoted me about a grand to pull the motor, do the valve adjust, and take care of the chain housing leak. He said he'd be available over the weekend on Sunday, and he'll fit me in to do whatever I don't want to do on the motor myself. He lives nearby, so he may stop by on Sunday for one of those beers.

Slider makes ten of you guys already, so I should probably ask to cut it off there. It's gonna look like a Porsche block party. It might be a good idea to split it into an engine drop and engine install party. I'm thinking I might pull it one weekend and put it back in the next, to give me some time to get stuff done. I've gotta get the digital camera ready. I can see a pretty thorough engine drop thread with pics taking shape.

You need

1. One guy in the engine bay
2. One guy or two under the car,
3. one guy inside the car,

The rest will stand around and drink beer. There is no more room after that. Nothing's wrong with drinking beer.

Hey Zoanas,

Add me to the list of beer drinkers, I think I'll be in town that weekend, and it sounds like we're neighboors. My house is near Vasco and Central.

Looks like the beer budget might exceed the engine budget. I know, I'll make a list of chores for the folks not wrenching or drinking...

Can we agree to stand outside in t-shirts and just say "Yuhp..." a bunch of times?

Hey Rick,

Do you need help with the food? I know this great place that makes a huge sandwich ring big enough to feed 15 guys. That can be my contribution since you've got enough talent there to start your own Porsche BBS. Let me know.

Chris

When are we doing this again? Give me 24 hours notice so I can place the food on order. Also, didn't you say your neighbor's wife is the model for your avatar? Invite her, man!

You're scaring me, Toby.

Chris, tentatively scheduled for June 26-27. I have those days off, but I want to see about getting the whole week off to take my time and allow for unforseen problems, ordering parts, etc. I was going to run it by the boss today, but I forgot we are in holiday mode today. Government has the day off (except us operational watchstanders), so I'l lhave to wait until Monday to talk to him.
