Need wiring help for a second alt warning light.

What's the best way to wire a second alt warning light.

I currently have one wired to the stock alt warning light. It worked once upon a time but has not been operational for some time now. I've checked all of the obvious things. I suspect there's a better way to wire these things than to just piggy back on the existing leads from the stock warning light.

Any suggestions?
