Thumbs up

The Friday photo updates from Axiom Motor Sport have been just great.
So when Axiom Motor Sport sends me a quicky Tuesday sneak preview I'm thrilled.
It's obvious Axiom shares my enthusiasm for this project.
The driver side door decals have been removed and the flares and running board are near completion.
I kinda like the clean doors, looks more like a street car.
My yellow turbo bodied neighbor is in for the full Axiom treatment too.

Rear flare bare metal detail, all tight fitting butt welded sections.

JonT and adomakin thanks for the props.

The good news is that Jae at Mirage International sourced an interesting long hood wide body front bumper. Here are a couple photos of the bumper. Axiom Motor Sport will adapt it to fit.

The progress and communication with Axiom Motor Sport has been awesome!
Yesterday Axiom sent me morning and afternoon updates!
About 15 pictures, here's a couple of them.

First the butt welded sections were metal worked and the welds surfaced.

Then a thin skim coat of filler is placed over the metal worked fenders.
The hips on those flares might need a custom coaster for a cold drink.
I should be placing cold drinks on all four fenders for the great guys at Axiom!

As seen on the other rear fender,
the thin skim coat is block sanded and smoothed into the final shape.

Thanks for your interest.
The next update should be with the new front bumper in place!

Yes it is. Axiom Motor Sport provides superior customer service.
Axiom sent me another dozen photos of today's progress.

As Rudy the shop Foreman calls it "the dirty work".

The final sanding, nice shape on the fenders. Soon to be covered in primer. All of the days/hours of methodical and deliberate, skillful work will soon be hidden by a mil or two of dull gray paint.

Today's photos.
The rear 18x13 rims with 27 inch tall rear tires and 18x10.5 front rims with 25.5 inch tall tires clear and fit the fenders perfectly.

Me too! I was out of town for a while and had a few emails waiting.
The first I opened (of course) were the 30+ update photos from Axiom!
Rudy saw you two/too were interested in an update and sent these a couple days ago.
Thank you Rudy and Joe for the hard work and keeping all of us up to date.

The new front spoiler arrived and Axiom went to work shaping it to match the flared front fenders.
Side shot with the new front nose with the running boards removed.

I like the flat sides on the new nose.
We might experiment with some temporary dive planes on the flat sides of the new nose.

Here's a shot of the nose, brake ducts and oil cooler opening.
Pardon the washed out contrast, I adjusted the image balance to bring out the shaded areas.
Again Axiom has expertly fitted this second front nose to their flared front fenders.

Rear shot in street trim without the running boards.
Rear bumper fit looks very nice.
Axiom did widen the rear bumper and completed extra shaping to enhance the side profile.

Just a couple more with the running board installed.
From the rear.
The lower part of the rear bumper just behind the rear tire was extended lower to the ground, to better match the running board.

From the front.

While I was out of town for a couple of weeks,
Axiom made sure their impressive working speed and quality stayed on track!
Thanks Axiom!
I'll have another Axiom Motorsport super widebody update soon.

From that front angle, it almost looks like you need an additional inch of rear spacer/wheel/tire to fill out the rear flair.

Looks great! Where did you get the front bumper? It's a ground scraper.
