I have got to get down to look at this beast to take notes. I crawled out to the ledge of the RSR slope but was able to make my way back. I'm going to post the following poll. How many beers can you stack on top of the rear RSR fenders?

Doug is basically right.
With the tall 27.2 slick and the very low ride height you do lose suspension geometry.
So raising the pivots combined with a basic competition alignment permits us to have tall rear slicks and a very low ride height.
Raised pivots were a common mod on 935s.

That is funny!
It sure feels that way sometimes.
Let my flying off the slope help others feel that their own slide on the slope is both controlled and rational.

There is much meticulous work ahead.
I won’t bore you every time a new hose end is installed.
Installing the drive train, completing the 3.6 conversion and routing fuel, engine and transaxle oil, engine and trans breather, air jack lines. Soon as we make the next plateau I'll be sure to update the thread.

Another update.
Recently several more projects have been completed on the RSR+.
I'll start off with the cool smaller details.

WEVO (Hayden at http://www.wevo.com/porscheproducts.htm) was very helpful and made a custom tall man shifter.
It is his standard high quality shifter with an extra long lever and a very cool light weight knob.
I am very excited to try the new position, closer to the wheel and easier to reach.

Here is an interior shot. Starting on the far left is a -20 oil line that goes from the front oil sump to the engine, the left rear air jack and the Optima battery.
Behind the driver's seat is the vertical brain mount and another air jack.
A Kirkey passenger seat will be installed and then between the two seats and on top of the shift coupler cover will be a round cool shirt ice chest.

The WEVO weld in coupler is really trick. Now forward/rear or left/right adjustments are made independent of each other.
Very slick!


The 3.6 was installed and the conversion completed.

Everything worked great except for the used brain that was delivered with the engine.
The brain appears to have been safely stored in salt water for a long period of time.
Jerry our local brain surgeon is on the case and should have it repaired soon.

We were able to find a loaner brain and get the new engine running.
After 20 minutes of running the new Super Cup cams were burnished in, no oil leaks just a couple vacume ports still to plug
A seemingly very free revving engine.

Jae has installed an adjustable fuel regulator.
When it's all done before we go to the track Jae will check the tune on the local dyno.

In progress before the street muffler was intalled.

Now that I've heard it run I want to race it.

A look under the front hood.
Now this is a small item but I really like it!

I think Pelican sells these now.

The front oil sump installed. The oil breather is yet to be installed. The engine breather line will return to the sump and then a breather off the front sump will be placed in the front trunk area.

See the primer under the steering coupler? I had the firewall/roof raised above the gas pedal for my size 14 Simpson racing shoe.

Now for something a little more decedent.

Mirge (http://www.mirageintl.com/) installed a sweet little air jack system.
With the car so low it would take wood blocks under the tires to get a jack under it.
Then getting the car a foot off the ground might take even more time and finesse.
Air jacks the ultimate convenience!
Before...

10 seconds later.

Takes just 300lbs of Nitrogen pressure to lift the car.

The air jack port will be mounted in the rear quarter window.
Not the best location if making hectic driver changes.
Since this is really just a street car that I track/race occasionally the location should be just fine.

72 inch wide wing, sits just inside the rear fender width.

HOLY MOLY!!! WOW, now that is really slick!

You could even flip it upside down and offer rides for kids on the air jacks, too!

Missing mods…Maybe a cool video system two camera split screen set up.
In car and car to pit noise canceling communications is on the list too.

But next on the list is a set of custom Lowyder993 extra long trailer ramps.

The car is serious but were all having fun watching it come together.
Even Jae and Dave at Mirage find time for fun.
Mirage race tuned became.....
hey it's pretty good mantra for summer desert racing.
