The one thing a corner would hear as you went by at an autocross is:
thud,thud,thud,thud,thud,thud,thud,thud,thud,thud, thud,thud.....

Pelicans thank you for your enthusiasm. I along with the skilled shops assisting in this project really appreciate it. Much of the inspiration to attempt this project came from years of viewing your projects on this board.
JC ![]() Big fenders make a big hole too, I'll be everyone’s favorite tow down the straights. Ted’s towing service. Be prepared should I ever take your air in the middle of the NASCAR bank at Fontana. ![]() Chuck, you are correct they started with basic turbo flares. Randy and Slider, yes with the new super wide fenders competing at an AX now would be like allowing everyone else to have a lane 18 inches wider than mine. ![]() ![]() Jack thanks for the comparison. These rear flares clear 27 inch tall rear tires on a chassis with a very low ride height. The flares are mounted higher than stock, with a little less slope. While the BB2 flares were probably designed to clear 25 inch tall rear tires. How much did you have to modifiy the shape of your fenders? ![]() ![]() Here are some recent engine photos. Vic custom fit the early tin to the 3.6. The tin will be powder coated 60% gloss black. He routed the Nololgy plug (rather long) wires 3.2 style. Engine and trans are ready for install. Thanks Vic! ![]() ![]() ![]() Before the drive train is installed the car is going to return to the cage shop for some fabrication to strengthen the rear cross member. It is a slick modification Cary from ERP Suspension Engineering and Jae at Mirage International designed together. You're up to date for now. ![]() Last edited by ted; 04-05-2005 at 10:22 PM.. |

In front, mine are a little narrower than Turbo flares. I can only fit 255's.

Hi Ted! Thats one big butt, very cool! I feel compelled to mention that while you're doing all this work, if your not doing it already, you should have your rear torsion tube mounts reinforced. They tend to crack...here what mine looked like before and almost after. If left unchecked, the crack can split the entire rear.
![]() After repair (still some final welding left to do): ![]() Best of luck!

![]() Rjay I really like your torsion bar bridle. Something similar will be done to my car. Actually we are deleting the spring plate covers entirely. Jae and Cary decided to move the spring plate pick up point above the torsion tube. A threaded bung welded to the top of the torsion bar tube will provide the pick up for the heim joint. Something similar to 911 race car prep in the 70s. The new pivot point will be where the yellow dot is on your picture. Thanks for your comments and pictures. ![]() |

Joe at Axiom sent a photo update of the flare progress for the last half of this week. Imho his working speed is second only to his shop's fabricating skills.
![]() Jae (Mirage International) and I are very happy with the progress and quality at Axiom Motorsport. Photos of rear flare fabrication and widening of the fiberglass rear bumper to match. Joe uses double steel greased plates under the tires to keep the car fully settled at the proper ride height. Morning sun in LA, my car and a bunch of head shots of hopeful LA models/waitresses. Joe and I just doing our thing helping these young ladies get discovered. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've seen nology wires used on my other car... didn't know, and didn't even check, to see if they made wires for the P-cars! Nice!
