You would think they would be but the OEM Bosch units aren't. I still haven't found a proper explanation (or a picture, etc.) saying its because of the wiring or "reference-air" being water tight (i've been looking for ages). For some reason 964's with an OEM O2 sensor driven in heavy rain can have problems with hesitation that are cured when you swap out for a OE O2 sensor. There is even a little blurb in the 993 Workshop manuals.

I purchased a generic O2 sensor with the connector. Did not splice.

I think it doesn't matter but we'll see if someone chimes in ... this is a very old thread.

Assuming two white wires and one black, no, it doesn't matter.

White -->White
Black-->Black
