Hey, that looks like Jackie Stewart's signature. I think he use
to race for Ford before he joined Wide World Of Sports as
a commentator. Did he ever race Porsche's?

Cool to have the wheel, though - he was a top racer
back in the day...

Nice 911!

Moazam,

I was just over at RMG this morning talking with Dan, I am sorry this car turned out like this. You can absolutely trust those guys for sure, they are first rate all the way around. I can't tell you how many times they have gone above and beyond the call for me. Sounds like you will be taken care of one way or the other.

Hi all. I'm new to the boards here. Not new to the Porsche community though. I work at RMG.
I purchased the car from Moazam.
Currently the engine is out of the car and under repair.
Heres leak down of #1 cylinder. Its good!
http://www.heinys.com/Carrera/DSC05612.html
Heres #2 @ 80% leakage.
http://www.heinys.com/Carrera/DSC05608.html
Heres #3 with about 65% leakage.
http://www.heinys.com/Carrera/DSC05610.html
#4 is excellent.
http://www.heinys.com/Carrera/DSC05609.html
#5 isn't looking so great at 73% leakage.
http://www.heinys.com/Carrera/DSC05611.html
And finally #6 which ended up with the best leakdown.

Thanks for the pics and welcome aboard. I need to mess with the parking brake on my 82SC in the near future so those close-ups are helpful. Chuck

No problem at all. I am glad the hand brake pictures were helpfull. I will try and keep the gallery updated as I progress on the car. We only work four days a week. (shop time) I will work on the car Fridays and Saturdays and keep taking pictures as I go. I replaced the oil lines to and from the oil thermostat tonight but thats not worthy progress. Hehe
More later.

Dan

Weekend #2 has been a lot of work on the car and it is progressing well.
Thursday nights job after hours was to rebuild the sunroof and install the correct steering wheel for the car. .
I installed the 930 tierod kit and bought the tires. (Bridgestone S-03) The wheels and tires are currently at Custom Alignment and will be ready Monday morning.
Fridaywas spent finishing up cleaning the rest of the engine parts, installing the new engine insulation pad, and servicing the chassis. All day Saturday was committed to re-assembling the engine. Its all done with the exception of the sheet metal and installing the muffler. The sheet metal is out being powder coated and should be ready early this week.
I replaced the cams, rocker shafts, rocker arms, swivel feet, and locknuts. All of the valves were replaced. All of the machine work was done by Ted Robinson of German Precision. He's the man!

For those of you that like pictures and want to see the progress.

Till next weekends update.....

Cool Synchroid! So you're basically giving it a top-end job only? I'd like to see your leakdown numbers afterward. I also see you gave it a good steam clean...I wish I had a place like that near me. You will have to post pics when she's all done!

This was a lady-driven 911? Hmm - a lady who drives a 911, ordered sport seats, added a Momo wheel, and apparently drove it hard enough to tire out the top end.

Was she hot?

99% done with the car now. I took last weekend off for some needed rest. Two things left to do. 1. Four wheel alignment with corner weighting. 2. Install new sound system.
The photo gallery has been added to. Sorry they are not in perfect order.

Thank you very much!
I think I am falling in love with her. Now I just need to come up with a good name for her. Time to sit back for a bit and enjoy it.

I have basically the same car. I'm gonna have to drop by RMG and check yours out. BTW, I saw on the RMG site your into q3, haven't played that in ages ... I used to run a q3 server named ALOTTAFAGINA, pretty popular server back in 2000. That was when I was at Netflix.com and had a 6mb pipe into the house paid for by work ... ahh the good ol' days.

Cool

I should probably update my RMG profile. I still like Q3 but have not played it in about a year. No time! Maybe when I get my new computer finished (if ever) I'll load it up again and see how rusty I am. The new box has a 3800+ AMD CPU on an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo with two 74 gig raptor hard drives. All I need to do on that is throw down on two very expensive graphics cards and some memory and that project is done. I am enjoying the current project more. (the car) The wife is more approving of me spending my time and money on the car then a gaming computer.

If you swing by the shop, I am there Monday - Thursday. Going on vacation the week after next so I won't be there then. (Aug. 7th)
