3.6 conversion on a '82 SC wearing origional paint. I really prefer the sleeper look with no tail and factory finish wheels. Car weighs 2380lbs and is all steel except rear bumper and front spoiler. Will get a FVD hotwire conversion on a 92 964 motor and tuned on a dyno next week.

Mahler,
What is up here. It looks like a single plug dist on a twin plug motor? I always wondered why others have not used an earlier fan as I believe it moves more air. Best argument I can think of for a air box it to keep from sucking hot air from under the car. Most do not go to much effort to ensure an effective seal. Quote:

Ruby was built by Instant G in 2002. She's an 82 SC with a 1996 Varioram.

I'd been holding off on adding to this thread until I had the car running.
Its a 78 SC, RHD, non sunroof coupe. Its generally very scruffy although I am improving that slowly, I call it 'The Shed' I've fitted a 95 993 motor, patrick flywheel, sachs power clutch, single pulley. Not sure where the exhaust came from, motor was in an early car before I bought it and it came with the exhaust. ![]() ![]() Scruffy ATS wheels have winter tyres on, in spring I'll be fitting a set of 15 inch Fuchs.

CF tube was an easy fit - with all the extra stuff removed - IIRC (been 6 years since I sold the car)

Burgundyben: I like your setup with the engine removal. What are you attaching the rope ends to in the photo with the motor hoist?
What I guess you lift up the car to the height you need, then put the truck jacks under, remove the engine hoist, then slide the engine out? Pretty slick.

I just finished my conversion last week. I'm now learning how to drive this thing all over again. The power is unbelievable!! Can't wait to get her on the track.
