Jason
that is a beautiful car. It makes me cry that it does not shift at $30k...
Wow what a hit we are all going to take...

The car shifts fine... but finding a buyer seems a little tough. I figured I would try "obo" instead of firm, as I really would like to sell it now, whereas before I kind of didn't.

911teo 10-12-2005 08:55 AM

By shift I meant sell... sorry for confusion

frencjas 10-12-2005 09:41 AM

I thought that is what you meant, however I wanted to clarify for those as easily confused as me that my car does shift (through the gears) fine. No harm no foul...

Scooter 10-12-2005 09:51 AM

Me too, but I did it the easy way and sold an '84, then purchased a '92. ;)

That's cheating.... both of you, Scott and Craig :)

Craig 930 RS 10-12-2005 10:12 AM

Yebbut........there IS an actual conversion in MY picture so nanny boo boo.......

Mahler9th 10-12-2005 10:39 AM

My conversion....

Actually it is a 3.8 n/a. Yes I drive it on the street... sometimes. Even with the numbers on it. And yes it has a 915....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1129142349.jpg

And.. yes it is light... weighs about 1950.

More details please :) plexi windows, fiberglass body?

Mahler9th 10-12-2005 11:11 AM

Fiberglass body, except roof which is carbon fiber. Polycarbonate windows... (NOT plexiglass).... F/R coilovers... Misc. other bits and doo dads for racing.

A pretty simple and cost-effective car that I occasionally drive on the street...

911teo 10-12-2005 11:17 AM

that's like 600lbs lighter than my car... how do u guys do it?

Mahler9th 10-12-2005 12:53 PM

It is not very hard with a 911!

911teo 10-12-2005 01:04 PM

Kudos to you for acheiving that...
But please don't come and patronize me with "a pretty simple and cost-effective car that I occasionally drive on the street..." and "it's not very hard with a 911!" to get a street car to 1950lbs, a 993 widebody at that.

If you like to share more information we can all benefit from it and admire your car... but "other bits and doo dads for racing" doesn't cut it for me...
Sorry about the rant but it feels like you are taking the piss...

Craig, I know this isn't your car, but do you know what exhaust Randy is running on his 3.6? It looks like its an early sport muffler with the dual pipes, very stock looking.

ozz 10-12-2005 01:24 PM

Wait a second Mike - fiberglass body, carbon-fiber roof, coil-overs, (especially the) other misecellanous do-dads for racing AND cost effective don't belong in the same thought here. As Matteo says - Kudos for achieveing that - well done. Its plausable that all of that probably gets it down to 1950 but, simple AND cost effective - common now. I guess it's all realtive.....

Craig 930 RS 10-12-2005 01:37 PM

Salazar - You are correct.
That car is a BULLET --

OK since veryone is parading their individualized and itemized improvements the real two remaining questions need to be asked and answwered:

1) how much did you spend on the conversion?

2) what is the REAL difference in power and accelleration put down onto the pavement as a direct result from the transplant? ie: like day and night or moderately immproved?

2 great questions antares.

I'm particularly interested in what people say about changes in performance since I will be getting my kit delivered on the 18th and I'm well excited!

c'mon guys - what was yr first drive like?
