Too many grounds off one point

I'm in the process off hooking up my 3.2 DME in my 914. Where my wires run, in regards to the grounds, is the same spot where I hook up my 914 grounds.

Can you have to many grounding wires pulling from one spot. Or should it be spread out.

As long as all the connections are clean it doesn't matter.

I use a line of thought that says it's not the actual number of wires but the number of connectors on one lug that is the envelope. My thinking could be all wet 'cause I think marine? I max at 4 terminals.

Theoretically it's better to have all grounds originate from one spot. It eliminates ground loops and varying potential in circuits due to ground currents. It's just not practical from a mechanical standpoint. The more lugs you introduce in any one connection to chassis, the more chances you have for degraded electrical connection.

Ground is ground.

Au contraire, what you think is ground isn't always at the exact same potential - Michael has it right. Whether gnd loops can be an issue for whatever electronics are in your model car, I dunno.

Just stack them up until you feel like it is not good mechanically then find or make another ground star.
