Torque Value for top Nut that Secures Shock?
What is the torque value for the large nut that secures the shock.
This is the nut that is inside of the front trunk. I have Boge struts with bilstein inserts. 1972 2.4 T Thanks, Ian |

Cannot answer your question, Here is what I do:
I count the number of threads exposed above the nut before I take it off, and make sure the same number of threads are exposed after I put it back with my air impact wrench. This only works if you are not swapping struts types, kinds, and others.

One More Torque Value Question: ball joint wedge pin?
What is the torque value for the wedge pin nut that slides through the bottom of the strut?
I see 2 values on the chart below: 32.5 and 15.9 I used the higher value of 32.5. Anyon? |

If it's the castellated nut, like this:
![]() then it's 32.5 otherwise it's 15.9.

It is the nut that secures the wedge pin which attaches the ball joint to the strut.
If I over torqued should I leave alone? Back it off and re-torque? Ian |

I'd back off and get the torque correct. There is a big difference between the 32.5 and 16!
