Wow man!

I'll refer to this thread any time I am tempted to cutting a large piece out of a car and realise it would just be easier to start with a tubing and some window frames.

Hey Matteo! Any news to report?

ninesixfour 09-27-2006 05:49 PM

I've just spent an amazing amount of time reading this entire thread. Yes, this is the mother of all builds and you absolutely MUST video the starting of the engine the first time. This could've been an entire season of "Monster Garage" or something. So it's a little past Easter, who cares?!! Good luck and I can't wait to see the final car.

Wow...I'm disappointed. I just read every post, from beginning to end about this amazing car, and I was ready for the big payoff. Alas...it is not done yet!

I'm especially interested because my project car is Mexico Blue to Be....

True... but mine is still a street car. I plan on using it to go and pick up the girls from school.... :D

A tube frame with fiberglass for me was too much...

Sorry for all the disappointed people out there (tough crowd here on Pelican uh ;) )

I have been to the body shop...
This is the story... The guy that worked on my car last year (great guy, very skilled) is working on it outside biz hours. So he's putting in evenings and weekends.
This is why the progress has been so slow.

I could make a big deal about it but the guy is a really nice guy and I do not NEED the car now.

I will have some pics soon.

if the delay screws your plans our deal is off. As I always said u have the option to back out anytime. OK?

Matteo,

Where did you source the Glasurit 55 you used for the paint? I need to find some here in the Denver area.

Jon Merck 09-28-2006 11:02 AM

Hey Matteo, don't let me pressure you.:) Mostly curious and needing a driving fix...:D

I am committed! I have several projects going on with the car so it isn't a problem for me. Plus, I feel like it will be worth the wait!

I didn't, the body shop told me they use Glasurit 55 and to find the formula for that...

Sorry. I can ask them... they have now become friends.

The ECU is a Motec M600. So we can use the full sequential mode.
It has a lot of other nice options... which are very useful for a force induction engine and less for for an NA...

The ECU will control a Jenvey ITB kit.

SCHNELE 10-18-2006 02:44 PM

I am using the Motec M600 as well but I am using M&W for ignition so I wanted to know where you planned to mount the CDI.

The car is back from the paint shop!!!!

It took 3 months... but now it is really beautiful.
The pictures of the car (which is now apart anyway) cannot tell how perfect it is. They went over it with a fine-toothed comb and every single aspect has been rectified.

So yes.. it took forever but now it is perfect.

I will post some pics to document Keith and Aaron progress on the rebuild.

The motor is ready and Steve Timmis is just waiting for me now.

Now I am excited... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
