Yes, Matteo wrote a couple pages ago it was ordered new from Porsche, and shipped from Germany.

Well, I must admit that if I had the cash or the balls, I would go this route as well. I mean, The new cars are great and stuff, but I never get chills or turn my head in passing quite like I do with a nice aircooled Porsche! The 911 has soul and this one is what every aircooled 911 would sell it's soul to become. Seriously guys and gals, we should all give our cars what they really want. More of everything. And while were at it, Less as well. When I was young, My big brother said " the porsche 911 is the closest you can get to buying a racecar to drive to school" I think he was 16 and I was 11. I never forgot that as one of the deciding moments in my life to be a 911 follower forever. When the 996 was built, the dream of a new 911 was transformed to doing what Matt is doing. Just a simple question which maybe have already been answered. I did not find it though. Why not use the 964 rear banana arms rather than the 911 or 930 ones now that you already have the 964 pickup points?

This is the front RSR pan for improving oil cooling flow. It is actually 2 of them welded together.

Please tell me if I am mistaken but I think the orifinal one was just directing the air flow under the car.

2/4 holes will be cut at the back of the pan and air ducts will be attached to them. The air ducts will run inside the front trunk and will direct the airflow to the wheel well.

We thought this solution was aerodinamycally better than the original one.

Always open to suggestions here though...

As of Friday Keith was working on finishing the 964 floor swap.

Keith transplanted the pick up points from my 88 911 onto the 74 tub.
He then reiforced the mounting with plates on 2 sides (an extra one will be welded on the inside of the transmission mounts points once the t-bar housing is removed.

Perhaps you can route those air ducts to cool the front brakes.

Should still be enough of a temp diff to cool them even after going thru the cooler.

I'm trying this with my car. Just need to get her running.

Princeton, I followed your 993 build and was wondering if you have any updates to share with the community.

I am going to use an IROC style front bumper. It has 2 holes in the front (beside the oil cooler opening) for brake cooling ducts.

On my old 88 I had the AJ plates and we are using them with longer ducts...

I had already bought all the ERP stuff (935 spring plates etc) that would work with the 911 banana arm. I am not sure they would have fit the 964 ones.

Also the wheels, brakes etc have been built to measure with the 911 arms...

Keith (at Zuffenhaus) said it was not a big deal to swap the pick up point... So I followed his advice.

one sick car man, really sick. You should consider a small portion of your budget for something like a Skip Barbour school so that you can learn to really do what this car is being built for. ...not to mention it would be a whole lot of fun.

Saw this car at Eurowerks/Zuffenhsen(sp?) the other day, Wow it is going to be a very special car. Amazing work these guys are doing. You need to plan a unveiling with free test drives! ;) The anticipation has got to be killing you Matteo.

Not an aero expert but I seem to remember that the 935's added louvers in the front fenders to get air out of the fender well. If it's an option, I would think that ducting the air out the top of the hood would be preferable to sending it into the wheel well.

For sure... but people will have to sign waivers first :( you never know...!

That would be the best solution. It also means we would need to "make" a custom hood with the big opening in the middle.
It has been done before and documented here on the board (Chuck Moreland and Rattlsnake I think have done it).

It is certainly on the cards, but it can be done later. Right now I want this thing to get onto the road asap.
