Stein - where do you live? You realize headers will make it so you don't have heat. If you need heat, SSIs is a good place to start, or used heat exchangers from a '74 2.7 or earlier.

3,6 headers are too big pipe wise for a stock motor, the 993 ones have the studs or the other side and the turbos have a place for the turbo which you don't have....

dd74: live in Norway. If it's possible to modify the heating and make that fit, it's no problem.
mikez: as long as i can fit the 993 headers on to my sylinder-heads i belive it will fit. My car has mounted twinturbo, but the headers has no heating. what did you meen by "the 993 have the studs or the other side"? |

Stein - if you have a turbo, no, the SSIs or '74 heat exchangers won't work.

After the 964 motor, one bank of exhaust studs were rotated 90 degrees. To fit 993 headers on pre-993 cars, you have to cut, rotate, and re-weld one bank of flanges.
I have no idea if this is the same for Turbos. Is the inner diameter of the 993 headers the right size for your motor? It could cost you power, especially at lower RPMs.

dd74: no, ssi won't work.
jack olsen: when it comes to diameter size i think it's less important on a turbo engine as long as it's big enough. but of course it depends on how much power i want. Overkill will probably lead to loss power at low rpm. thanks for info. I think it will be easier to modify 99tt header than use 930 turbo and rebuild with single turbo. cheaper too.... |

The turbo has the same reversed flange as the n/a version.
but the good news it's only on the 3 passenger side cylinders and Tyson posted a nice solution for rotating them here
