Matt's is the most beautiful 911 I have ever seen. To hell with Targa vs. coupe.

When he get's feisty he posts close ups.

Wow! Love that car, something about the color and the trim just really sets it off. I thought I remembered it having an interesting backstory but hadn't seen any pics since you first posted about the acquisition. Had to search through all your old posts but finally found it;
Ultimate Targa Thread!

Glad to see you had success with getting it back on the road.

Thanks Bob and Nate, I have to take some new photos as I have lowered her to European ride height. It took me a little while to get the CIS system sorted out but it was worth it, the car runs perfect and goes like a bat out of hell!

I'm not so sure about that.

Rinverso...you're a chick, come on.

Some nice Targas above arbita1, do you have 9s in the back? Glad you kept the scoops... I'm running 80/100, relays in scoops...love the lowered look...what're your measurements and are you rubbing, rolled fenders?

Yes those are 9's on the back.

You know, I keep going back and forth on whether I want to switch out to the Euro H4 rings. Right now, I have the Euro H4's that fit in the scoops (not the sealed ones). So night lighting is very adequate with these. I don't remember the bulb wattage, but not high enough to warrant the relay upgrade. Mostly the cost of the new lights has dissuaded me.

I think I'm just slightly below Euro ride height. Maybe 24.5" to the front wheel lip. It's been a while since I've last checked. I had to have the front lips rolled because I have 7's on front (w/ 205's) and it caught the lip and pulled it down during an AutoX one time.

You are all correct. The Targa has inferior styling, rigidity, and weatherproofing. After owing a 1971E Targa from new until June 2014, I sold the hunk of junk for a dozen times it's purchase price. They also threw in an 88 Coupe with 35K miles to get me back and forth from my therapy sessions where I try to come to grips with my 43 year mistake.

Originally I was looking for Turbo body coupe or Targa but I love Porsche's so it really did not matter. So I found this one and I don't have any complaints so far!

Nothing of course with the fact you had a 71 E for 43 years. Hopefully the therapy helps.
