$20K. In a heartbeat. Hold out for your price. The car needs nothing.

Ask $20K, take 17 or thereabouts?

Admittedly the car is beautiful and worth top dollar, but it has a lot of track-oriented mods that the casual purchaser may not be interested in.

It just depends on how long you're willing to hold out looking for that perfect buyer who's willing to pay your price. If the car is costing you X$ per month just to own, then you need to factor that into the equation of whether it's better just to accept a lower selling price,

I would think you could $18-20k for it if you find the right buyer. With those mods and the condition that you describe it in I would easily have paid that for it. I found a great car in great condition, very well maintained but stock motor and suspension that I paid $16k for.

The Excellence values are only useful for stroking or deflating egos. They are all over the map. If someone thinks my 993 is only worth $25k, they have no business owning a Porsche.

I would take no less than 15K for the car. I paid that for my '81SC. It was setup very much the way I would do it. I am sure you can sell it to someone who is looking for more than just a street car. I bought mine so I could do track and autoX events and it appears there are people out there looking for more than just a street car.

No cage?

It looks like all your gauges have vibrated counter-clockwise..... we'll have to deduct for that.

Really, though, your car looks very nice.

Well, I wanted a cage or roll bar, but put a harness bar in to get through the next track season and until I could figure out what to do next. Then Leland West said they would not insure me if it had a roll bar or cage. So the harness bar stays.

Didn't you call it "track insurance" earlier on? Is this actually insurance that covers you while driving in a track event?? If it is, it seems that they would want the extra protection.

Illogical.

No worries. It won't go to an uncool person. I am very tempted to add some language to the for sale ad like: "If you've never owned a Porsche before, this isn't the car for you." Or: "If a 964 is the newest Porsche you've ever owned, drive some other older 911's before test driving this one."

I can only compare Rick's description to what I actually bought 90 days ago. So with all due respect to Rick and his car, I think Winterfarm is way off base. I paid top dollar for what I believe to be a much nicer car and it was not even in the zip code of $20k. IMHO, I would say $15-16K.
